WHAT ARE WE ALL ABOUT?
he aim of BeginnersTech is to attract and help people of all ages; to teach them how to take the bull by the horns and make it work for them, not the other way around. We provide simple step-by-step tutorials, videos, reviews and the latest news in a way that everyone will be able to understand — even for those with little knowledge and understanding of technology. We are UK based and are attracting people from all over the world and from all walks of life.
What inspired us?
ducating others is our inspiration. We have spent years reading technology blogs and tutorial site’s and found ourselves to be truly inspired. Technology is the past, present and future; it is ever changing; making it difficult to keep up with. Most technology blogs are filled with articles that are very interesting but only appeal to those who have an understanding of it. We feel this should not be the case and everyone who wishes to learn about technology should be able to keep up-to-date with easy step-by-step guides; this is what we do at BeginnersTech.
Where did it all start?
reating BeginnersTech started as many of my other “Great Ideas” did, with a rush of blood to the head. Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Ryan O’neill, I am the creator and C.E.O of BeginnersTech. I am in my late 20’s and currently reside on the west coast of Scotland with my lovely wife Joanne. Technology, gadgets and I have been best mates since before I can remember. I have always been the go-to guy for technical fixes or modifications. One Sunday afternoon I had been crouched over an Xbox for repair when I thought to myself; wouldn’t it be great if folk could just go online and read a tutorial that wasn’t complex and fix thing’s themselves?
After a few hours of searching online and looking through dozens of tutorials, it became clear to me. The tutorials were all great except for the fact that they were written for people who knew what they were doing. So I decided I would start a Blog of my own and create some easy to follow tutorials. I had no idea how to create a Blog so who better to ring than my buddy Martin Gardner who already had a successful website on the go (Web Developer Glasgow). After a few hours I had my blog and all my tutorials where posted.
A few months had now past and the Blog had been receiving lots of traffic and praise for my simplistic writing style, so I decided to take things to the next step and create a website. So you know who I called right? After a few days of nipping Martins ear we had a fully functional website. This went on for a year adding more tutorials and introducing tech news onto the site. After a year of the site being live, I again phoned Martin with some “Great Ideas” haha. As usual I annoyed the poor guy so much and distracted him from his already hectic lifestyle that he had to help just to get rid of me haha. After many sleepless nights we managed to get the new and improved BeginnersTech.co.uk up and running.
We’ve teamed up with a number of great companies who graciously supply us with great products for review. In July 2012 we gained a brand new shiny team member, now Editor in Chief. He goes by the name of Jonny Polea (The Big Man). Jonny has been a long time friend and a technology nut all of his days and is now gracing our pages. You will find his posts not only interesting and educational but funny and witty. So that’s the story so far ladies and gents — were do we go from here? Who knows? We just want to keep delivering the latest Tech news and keep educating our awesome followers.
