Alcatel 6” One Touch Hero phone comes out of Hiding

With the IFA 2013 event still to get underway, we already have several of new products to look forward to, and the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean  Alcatel One Touch Hero sure is one of them. Alcatel, who has been licensing its brand name to Chinese TCL and letting it handle the production of handsets on its own, appears to have taken the Hero part of the device quite seriously, the phone is due for an October launch date, is truly sporting some unusual, if cool, features that rivals have been reserving for their occasional smartphone experiments.

The Alcatel One Touch Hero offers an upgrade from the Scribe HD in just about every department. Starting off with the looks, it’s nice to see that this time around Alcatel has done the display justice – we’re looking at a giant 6-inch IPS panel running at 1920×1080 with stylus support. The amount of RAM has also been bumped to 2GB, and we have a 1.5GHz quad-core SoC (System on Chip) of unknown make, though Alcatel has relied on local MediaTek for the rest of the devices in its new line-up, it’s safe to assume that this will sport a MediaTek as well. Keeping up to speed with the trends, the rear camera on the Hero is a 13MP unit with a LED Flash, a 2MP camera is buried at the front. The 16GB of storage is thankfully microSD-expandable by 32GB. Giving life to all these internals is a very healthy 3400mAh battery.

On the Alcatel OneTouch web page the One Touch Hero is yet to show its face at the time of writing.
