You’re lying in bed or on the sofa and have screen auto-rotation on. As soon as you open an up on your home screen, the screen turns sideways. Yes, we know we can turn off the auto-rotation in the settings, or change the position of the phone until the text is upright once more, but now with one tap you can lock the orientation.

This is where OrientationLocker, works it’s wonders!

OrientationLocker is a simple app that allow users to lock the orientation of the screen to the current position with a tap of a button. Once opened, the app quietly runs in the background, signaled by a notification in the slide-down notification area. And if there’s a position you want your phone to be locked into, just press the notification and tap the little lock icon that appears. Even better still, users can entirely skip the first step by rotating the phone and tapping the lock icon that magically pops up on detection of rotation.
At only 794 kilobytes and using only 10 megabytes of RAM, it’s a certainly a very small and fair price to pay for an extremely practical app. OrientationLocker is compatible with Android versions 3.0 and newer, and can be downloaded for free, from the link below.

From the Developer:
The app will load itself in a position you choose.
The app uses several permissions, all in order to be as much effective as possible (for example, getting call information so it will not pop up during a ring or a call).
The application is still under development, if you have any ideas / suggestions or you meet something you think should be fixed, please use the About page to contact me and I’ll do my best.
