Apple in talks to purchase Kinect maker PrimeSense

News has came today from Israeli news source Calcalist that Apple may be looking to purchase control specialist and Kinect maker PrimeSense. Before we begin it is worth noting that Calcalist have an awesome track record when it comes to this sort of news. PrimeSense are a well known company and specialists in there field and have worked with Microsoft to create the first generation of Kinect.

Why would Apple be interested in this company? Well giving the talent that PrimeSense have they could really help apple deliver on new projects that require natural interfaces. The value of the acquisition is guessed to be worth around $280 million but the source does state that talks are in the very early stages. Whatever happens we think that this would be an awesome acquisition for Cupertino and can’t wait to see what it could potentially bring.
