Since the iPhone 5 was released with it’s lightning port Apple has chosen to stop making the accompanying dock that we used to love for reasons only they know. Now iPhone 5/5s and 5c users have to use third party alternatives and today thanks to MyTrendyPhone we have the opportunity to review one such dock from Belkin. The Belkin Charge and Sync dock looks the part so lets see if it functions as good as it looks.
As I have already stated the Belkin Charge and Sync docks looks great even tho it’s constructed from primarily plastic, it has an nice MacBook metallic finish to it and compliments the iPhone 5/5s aluminium unibody very well. The dock itself has a nice soft rubber finish ensuring your iPhone remains scratch free while docked. Unlike some of the lightning docks on the market the Belkin Charge and Sync dock has it’s own built in lightning cable meaning all you have to do is plug it into a USB power source.
While docked the iPhone sits perfectly and there is also quite a bit of give on the lightning connector. This give allows you to dock your iPhone even with a pretty thick case on which is an area a lot of docks let us down. The underside of the dock is also coated in rubber to ensure that the dock does not slide around your desk.
I have been using this dock daily now for many weeks and have to say i would recommend it to anyone looking for one. The fact that I don’t have to remove my case is a huge bonus.
Overall the Belkin Charge and Sync dock is a worthy investment for any iPhone user and provides a convenient way of keeping your iPhone charged up. If you would like to pick this dock up you can buy one from MyTrendyPhone for £35.40
