BlackBerry 10 gets U.S. DoD approval

After hearing that Samsung Knox-enabled devices, and possibly Apple devices, have gotten approval from the U.S. Department of Defence (or DoD), some people wondered if the new BlackBerry 10 phone would live up to their previous standards. Well that question was answered when the DoD approved the use of the BlackBerry Z10, Q10, and Playbook running Enterprise Service 10.

This is another huge step forward for BlackBerry. Having the DoD approve the use of the new BB10 devices opens up the possibility of other security and banking industries to call up the Canadian device maker.

I am an avid enthusiast of everything mobile. I have used many different platforms, including Blackberry, Android, iOS – and yes – even WebOS. I want to use my experience with these platforms, and my background in engineering, to give my thoughts on the functionality of current mobile technology and its impact on the industry. I hope to foster discussion on these topics, and I am looking forward to hearing from all of you.
