BlackBerry Q10 sells out at Selfridges

Selfridges, an outlet of Carphone Warehouse, said that they sold “thousands of units” of the BlackBerry Q10 per hour. These were mostly to corporate customers, but it was also reported that Selfridges sold out in store within 30 minutes of opening the doors.

The BlackBerry Q10 was exclusive to Selfridges for this past weekend only. All Carphone Warehouse stores will have the Q10 starting April 30. Carphone Warehouse is selling the Q10 SIM free for £579.95 or for £33 a month on contract with all the major networks. As for other U.K. dealers:  Phones 4U, Vodafone, and O2 should all have the Q10 starting on April 30.

Since there was some dispute about the BlackBerry Z10 sales in the UK, it is very nice to see such strong numbers for the Q10 on opening weekend. If BlackBerry can keep this up, they will very quickly pull themselves up and become a force to be reckoned with again!

I am an avid enthusiast of everything mobile. I have used many different platforms, including Blackberry, Android, iOS – and yes – even WebOS. I want to use my experience with these platforms, and my background in engineering, to give my thoughts on the functionality of current mobile technology and its impact on the industry. I hope to foster discussion on these topics, and I am looking forward to hearing from all of you.
