A new post on the official Driveclub Facebook page has promised fans a release date for the much delayed racer:
We know you want news about DRIVECLUB. We are going to bring you up to speed with a full #DRIVECLUB update soon, because we are immensely proud of how the game is developing and we’re confident you’ll see why when we show you more. Expect an official release date, full game details and new videos in the weeks to come.
This may sound familiar for people keeping track, as back in late March, there was another announcement also promising an update and release date confirmation “in the weeks to come.”
Like so many other games DriveClub was originally planned to launch alongside the PS4, Driveclub was instead delayed until “early 2014” back in October, 2013. Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida attributed the delay to technical issues involving the game’s social features.
Evolution Studios’ Col Rodgers, who was serving as game director on Driveclub, departed the UK Studio in February.
