Exciting News: BlackBerry to Release More BB10 Devices

I am a BlackBerry addict, and I have been for about six years. When I heard about the release of the new BB10 phones, I was overjoyed. I wasn’t just overjoyed about new BlackBerry phones, but I was happy to see that BlackBerry are going to make another go at it. Google and Apple have dominated the market for a while now and a bit of healthy competition is never a bad thing; it keeps everyone on their toes and the tech at optimum levels. Then came even more exciting news form the Waterloo Canada based company.

In a March 21st interview with c|net, BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins hinted that more BB10 phones would be coming out this year. “There’s one new product that I’m really excited about, but I can’t really share it,” Thorsten said to c|net about the possibility of a new BB10 flagship phone that could be released in time for the end-of-the-year-holidays. Heins also confirmed that there will be a mid-level device released later this year, as well – similar to what the Curve-style phone would offer – and the Q10 would be released only about three to four months after the Z10! This news is indeed exciting for BlackBerry fans. If the company can finally start to build up its portfolio and get more backers, then maybe BlackBerry can start to regain its prestige of years past.

I am an avid enthusiast of everything mobile. I have used many different platforms, including Blackberry, Android, iOS – and yes – even WebOS. I want to use my experience with these platforms, and my background in engineering, to give my thoughts on the functionality of current mobile technology and its impact on the industry. I hope to foster discussion on these topics, and I am looking forward to hearing from all of you.
