Google Drive Update to v1.2, New Interface, scan feature, and more. Google has detailed a Big new update for its Drive application for Android v1.2.182.25 that many of you are sure to like.
For starters, the user interface has been refreshed to fall in line with the card-style design language that Google has come to know and love. Google has also put an emphasis on swiping, using the gesture to swipe through your documents and view previews of what’s inside. You’ll also get a new option using the action from this view — the ability to “download a copy” of the file for offline use.
Google Drive app now integrates cloud printing support, so printing your documents wirelessly no longer requires you to find a laptop or desktop computer. All of this and more can be had in the Google Play Store right now, so get over there to download it at your earliest convenience.
What’s in this version:
- New grid view makes it easier to find your files
- New quick preview lets you view photos and other files from within the app
- Scan documents, receipts and letters for safe keeping in Drive; then search by contents once uploaded
- Download a copy of files to your local device (Honeycomb+)
- Spreadsheet editor now supports changing fonts, colors and cell alignment
- View properties of files from within the editors
- Bug fixes and visual improvements
The update is live in the Play Store now, so hit the widget to grab it.
