Google Glass Titanium Collection announced: New frames and prescription lenses

This is the day many Google Glass Explorers may have been waiting for as Google announces new frames and first-party prescription lenses for Google Glass. We don’t often talk about Glass much on BeginnersTech mainly due to the fact that it’s US only for the moment but I felt this announcement was worth mentioning. Google took to it’s Google+ page and showed its fans the four new frames and prescription lenses that are part of what they call the “Titanium Collection”.

As expected the name gives away the fact that these new frames are indeed made from lightweight titanium and don’t look unlike frames you would find in your opticians. The frames themselves cater to both male and female and you can see them all in the pictures below. The frames known as Split, Thin, Bold and Curve will be available with clear glass or your corrective prescription and Google has also added two new styles of twist on sunglasses should they be of interest.

Current Explorers can pick these up as of tommorow afternoon as stated on the Google+ post so expect a load of reviews and opinions to be hitting the headlines. Unfortunately no pricing details were given but Google did mention that some vision insurance providers may pick up the bill if your lucky. So all that’s left to say is let’s hope the rest of us do t have to wait to long to give Glass a try.

BeginnersTech was an idea I had one Sunday when I was bored. It is now not only a website but a successful YouTube channel that takes me all over the world. Don’t ever let anyone discourage you. Chase those dreams.
