Google Nexus 10 Price Cut a Nexus 10 2 Launch Precursor?

There’s nothing like a good-old price-cut to spark rumours that a replacement device is well and truly on the way. As such, it’s understandable that so many are reading into the latest Google Nexus 10 discount as something of a precursor to the launch of its successor – the Nexus 10 2.

You can pick up the 16GB Wi-Fi Nexus 10 over at Amazon UK right now for just £275.21 with free delivery thrown in. That’s a 31% saving and at the time of writing at least, there’s a decent pile of them in stock.
Or you can head over you Expansys UK and save even more as they have it on sale for £249, yes that’s right £249 with free delivery.
Exciting stuff, but for those that like to read between the lines there’s more to it all than meets the eye. Having failed to turn up at about a dozen estimated launch parties so for, we’re now being told to look out for a surprise debut of the Nexus 10 2 at Google’s I/O event a few months from now.
Some had insisted the slate had been abandoned altogether, while others maintain it’s all been a case of waiting for the right time and choosing the right firm to partner with. As of now, the short-list has been narrowed to Samsung, HTC and ASUS – all of which have the potential to make the Nexus 10 2 a force to be reckoned with. Given that ASUS makes the Nexus 7 we would put them in prime position to make the Nexus 10 2.

It’s all speculation for the time being at least, but the general consensus points to a 10.1-inch tablet boasting 2,560 by 1,600 resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 3GB of RAM, an Adreno 330 GPU and a 10-megapixel camera to the rear.
Worth the wait?
You better believe it!
