Google Now Updated, Can Now Search Within Any App On Your Smartphone

Google_Now_300pxIt has been some time now since Google Now, the voice activated assistant of Android, has been updated. Well finally an update has arrived and the voice assistant is now capable of launching any app you request it to. That’s not all tho as Google has also introduced the ability within Google Now itself to actually kick off a search – and this can be done in while running any app on the handset itself. In other words, those who are curious about checking out this new feature will be able to mention something along the lines of “OK, Google, search for hotels in Hotel Finder”, or “OK, Google, search for pizza on Pizza Hut uk or Dominos″ etc, and wait for a while as the voice assistant launches the corresponding app, while kicking off its search automatically – within the given parameters. Such a connection has to be allowed by the target app (developers have to update their app). Right now, this particular feature is available on English locale phones, as long as they run on Android Jelly Bean or newer. Have you given this a go already, and if you have done so, how do you find it so far? Source: android-developers.blogspot
