Google Voice – Improved Reliability of SMS Delivery

The update to Google Voice is all about Improved Reliability of SMS Delivery, which is good. The bad part about this is, if you live outside the US we will not get it just yet. Google will be rolling it out but no date is fixed yet.

Make cheap international calls with your Google number. Send free text messages. Place calls and send text messages showing your Google number. Listen to voicemail and read transcripts.
Currently only available in the US.
– You must open Google Voice at least once after upgrading to route calls.
– When using Google Voice for Android, both domestic and international calls are placed through a US-based Google Voice access number, and will use the standard minutes from your cell phone plan.

We know Voice will not be included in Google Babel right away, but it will be included at some point. When? We don’t know. Google Voice users are still waiting on true MMS support as well. All that we know right now is that Google hasn’t abandoned the service or the Android app.
