GTA Online Transfers Not Working Unless You Logged In During 2014 (Update)

The game forums and groups have been packed with people having problems transferring their GTA 5 profiles to their next gen consoles. The error message they are receiving is below.

“No previous Grand Theft Auto Online data is associated with your Social Club account.”

Well is seems Rockstar is now aware of the issue and are “urgently” investigating the issue. The issue appears to only affect players who have not played GTA Online since 2013. Here’s what Rockstar had to say:

“We are urgently looking into an issue preventing character transfer and GTA Online login on accounts that haven’t played GTA Online since 2013″

“If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and thanks for your patience.”

So it looks like you just have to wait it out until the issue is solved, luckily for me my transfer went smoothly. Is this issue affecting you? Let us know what you think.

So it looks like the issue has been solved for PS4 users and Xbox One users will be happy to know it’s their turn tomorrow. The official word is below:

11/18/14 Update: This issue has now been addressed for PlayStation®4 and Playstation 3 users, and will be addressed for Xbox One and Xbox 360 users by tomorrow. Xbox One players can still log in to Grand Theft Auto Online but will not be able to transfer characters until the fix is in place.
