HOW TO DOWNGRADE THE HTC DESIRE HD FOR ROOTING.

First of all you should check the firmware version (build number) of your HTC Desire HD. To do this go to settings>”about phone”>”firmware version” (build number). If its above 1.32 follow this tutorial.

Requirements

1. HTC Sync or (ADB drivers) set up on your computer.

2. Desire HD with build number 1.72 or higher.

IMPORTANT NOT TO TELUS DHD USERS. YOU MAY LOSE SOUND BECAUSE THE 1.32.405.6 IS NOT FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH THE SOUND CHIP. WHEN YOU INSTALL A CUSTOM ROM ALL WILL BE WELL JUST LETTING YOU NO SO YOU DONT PANIC.

TUTORIAL

1. If you have a branded device, you have to make a GOLDCARD. Use “mmc2” dont use “mmc1”

2. Download this FILE

3. Download the 1.32.zip

4. Now connect you DHD to your computer via usb SET TO CHARGE ONLY AND USB DEBUGGING ENABLED.

5. This is where the fun starts just relax. You now want to open up your cmd prompt window and navigate to the downgrade folder and type these commands,

adb push psneuter /data/local/tmp
adb push misc_version /data/local/tmp
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/psneuter
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/misc_version
adb shell /data/local/tmp/psneuter
adb shell

6. Ok so after this if you go a # sign in the result you are rooted temporary. So type these commands

cd /data/local/tmp
./misc_version -s 1.31.405.6

7. Last few steps now and your done.

– Now you can set the phone to disc drive mode. Put the PD98IMG.ZIP on your sd card, when you have done that you can close the CMD window.

– Now Reeboot your phone while holding the volume down button and it will take you to the bootloader screen.

– Now just follow the instructions on screen and your finished and you can now follow my other tutorials HAPPY DAYS.
