How to perform an OTA (Over The Air) update on your iDevice

So iOS 6.1 has recently been released and we got a few emails asking us how to perform an Over The Air update. Updating via OTA saves you connecting your device to iTunes. Firstly usually there is a notification to inform you that there is a new software available, if this hasnt happened or you dismissed it just follow our simple tutorial.

– Go into settings App and click on General
– Now you will see Software Update go ahead and click on that
– Your iDevice will now check if there is an update available.
– You will now get either a Download and Install option or Install now (if you previously downloaded it). So click whatever option you are given.
– Your iDevice must have at least 50% battery so you may be prompted to plug it in. I advise that you just do this regardless to ensure the update is not interupted.
– Your device will now do the rest of the hard work go get a cup of tea. When its finished your device will reboot and have the newest software.
