HTC cleared of Nokia Microphone Technology infringement in ONE

Over the last 24 hours or so since the news broke that HTC’s microphone was in actual fact Nokia’s. And that Nokia won an injunction against HTC, it now appears that according to the court in Amsterdam has in fact found HTC blameless.

It turns out that although STMicroelectronics designed the Tufnell microphone, they forgot that it had signed a 12-month exclusivity agreement with Nokia, and not a 6 month agreement they believed they had signed. Now the Amsterdam district court is putting a 10-month ban on STMicroelectronics from selling the microphone to anyone but Nokia.
