HTC Power To Give: The potential to research cures for cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, AIDS

HTC Power To Give Android Apps on Google Play (1)

HTC Power to Give lets you be a part of exactly that. It allows your smartphone, when plugged into power and connected to WiFi, to download small bits of data for processing. When the data is processed, it’s uploaded to the server, and more is downloaded. This data is used to solve problems in the fields of cancer research, AIDS, Alzheimer’s, clean water, and extra-terrestrial life.
If we were able to get 1 million HTC One smartphones running this app, we could generate nearly 1 petaflop of computational power, similar to supercomputers in the top 30 ranked world-wide. And with over 780 million Android smartphones shipped in 2013 alone, imagine what they could all do together…

You can download the app from the Google play link below Join HTC on our mission to make the world a better place. Download the Power To Give app and connect your smartphone when you go to bed.
Your HTC smartphone’s processing power will fuel a research-based grid aimed at solving the world’s biggest questions. Contribute to human needs in the fields of medicine, science, and environmental causes with Power To Give.
