It looks like Sony have let the cat out of the bag, by “announcing” that The Last of Us is, coming to the PlayStation 4 in a ‘remastered’ form.
I have checked and the UK site hasn’t been updated. The above image comes from the US Sony store and shows The Last of Us Remastered as available to pre-order for $59.99. Another point to mention is that it’s listed as Day 1 Digital which means there may be a boxed version being released soon. Don’t get excited yet as clicking the banner displays a page not found error.
The Last of Us Remastered is a port of probably the best PS3 game out. The Last of Us on the PS4 will run in 1080p, and will come with:
A list of upgrades including higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lighting, upgraded textures, along with even more improvements.” TLoU Remastered will also include a director’s commentary for every in-game cinematic.
A PS4 version of The Last of Us was mentioned by PlayStation’s Software Market Manager, Sercan Sulun who said:
It would include all previously released DLC, including the Left Behind single-player expansion, the Abandoned Territories multiplayer map pack, and the Reclaimed Territories map pack (more on the latter is promised soon
As yet there hasn’t been an official announcement by Sony, but for the moment the banner hasn’t been removed which is about as much of a solid confirmation as we can hope to get.
