LG release details of the G3 Screen with NUCLUN octa-core chipset

lgg3screennuclun-630x419LG is a pretty big player in the technology world, not least with it’s mobile devices. Now it’s moved into the mobile processor game too.

Tonight LG unveiled NUCLUN, (pronounce it “NOO-Klun) its first mobile application processor. The SoC octa-core chipset uses ARM’s big.LITTLE tech and includes four 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A15 cores for its high performance needs as well as four 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A7 cores for less demanding processing. LG has also included LTE-A Cat. 6 capabilities into NUCLUN.


Along with its new processor, LG tonight also revealed the first phone that’ll be powered by NUCLUN. The LG G3 Screen features a 5.9-inch 1080p IPS display, 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS+, 2.1-megapixel front camera and 32GB of storage that can be expanded upon with a microSD card. Also included in the G3 Screen’s 9.5mm-thick body is 2GB of RAM, a 3000mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat.

G3 Screen phone that it’s releasing this week in Korea. There will be a lot of interest surrounding the device when it arrives. Interest will be in how it compares with the main processors makers like  Qualcomm, NVIDIA and Samsung.
