Moto 360 Users Should Receive Lollipop Update Today

moto360_goldBeginnerstech reported back in October the last update to Android wear. Last week however, Google announced that a fresh update for Android Wear was on its way. The new software upgrades the base operating system to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop and brings with it faster navigation, new operating modes, and support for new watch faces built with the new Watch Face API.

Motorola began rolling out the Lollipop update to Moto 360 users on December 10.

Rollout Schedule
Users will not be able to force an upgrade out of turn
12/10:  5%
12/11:  25%
12/13:  50%
12/15:  100%

The Lollipop update is officially based on Android 5.0.1, and carries the build number LWX48P and the internal designation of “Coral”. Although on my Moto 360 it’s showing build number LMX48T which according to motorola forums is to do with languages.

If you don’t own a Moto 360, Google has promised that all Android Wear devices (ASUS ZenWatch, LG G Watch, LG G Watch R, Samsung Gear Live, and Sony SmartWatch 3) should have the Lollipop update by December 17.
