OnePlus 2 will feature “lightning quick” fingerprint scanner

OnePlus has revealed yet another feature of the upcoming OnePlus 2, which will be announced on July 27. On its Twitter account, the company posted a tweet revealing the new flagship will be equipped with a “refined and lightning quick” fingerprint sensor, even claiming that it will “unlock your device faster than TouchID.”

Fingerprint scanners are becoming a standard among flagship smartphones, however, many OEMs have simply taken a mediocre fingerprint sensor and put it somewhere in the device just to be part of the game. OnePlus says they could’ve done it with the OnePlus 1, but decided to wait and get it right.

We expected the device would most likely feature a fingerprint scanner, however, the statement that it will be faster than TouchID makes things more interesting. Of course we’ll just have to wait for the day we can actually see for ourselves the speed of the sensor, and I imagine there will be a lot of video comparisons trying to determine which is faster.
