PS Vita can play PS One games and controll your PS3

Sony released Firmware version 1.80 to PS Vita owners on Monday night and this brought with it some exciting new features. These features include the ability to play PSOne classics and use the handheld as a controller for the PS3.

129 titles are officially available for the Vita in Europe like: Arc the Lad, Cool Boarders 2, Final Fantasy VII, Hot Shots Golf 2, Jet Moto, Syphon Filter, Tomb Raider, Twisted Metal 2, and Wild Arms. Other titles are reported to work but it is not a free-for-all just yet.

Other features of the update include the ability to use the D-Pad to navigate the main menu. Maps and Web browser have also been upgraded to include a search bar in the top left corner, a jump-to-top button, and the ability to scroll through pages with the rear touchpad.
