We have looked at many portable power banks here on BeginnersTech but none as large as the 14,000mAhRAVPower Deluxe External Battery Charger. This monster power bank has a huge 14000mAh Lithium-Ion battery that can output a total of 3A and has enough juice to help you over and over again, let’s se what we thought of this beast.

Capacity: 14000mAh
Output: 5V / 1A; 5V / 2A
Input: 5V / 1A
Weight: 10.6 ounces
Size: 4.92 x 3.15 x 0.79 inches

Whats Included

When you open up your RAVPower Deluxe 14000mAh Power Bank you will be presented with the power bank itself and a netted bag of adapters. The adaptors include a micro USB adapter, a mini USB adapter, a Samsung 30-pin adapter and an Apple 30-pin adapter. So you get everything you need to get up and running.

The RAVPower Deluxe 14000mAh Power Bank is about the average size of other power banks we have seen but weighs a little more as expected due to it’s huge battery. The design is pretty simple making it a pleasure to use, the main housing consists of a brushed aluminium look plastic on the sides with the options of matte black or glossy white for t top and bottom.

We have been given the matte black version and to be honest even although it is plastic it still looks classier than any other power bank we have looked at. As I said the design is simple with all ports living on one side of the power bank, and they include two USB power output ports and one micro USB input port for charging this monster.

On top of the housing is a nice power on button and a sleek thin LED light strip to indicate the power level and charging status of the RAVPower Deluxe.

The RAVPower Deluxe 14000mAh Power Bank is not short of features and has short circuit protection and up to 500 battery charge cycles. We have thoroughly put the 14000mAh battery through it’s paces and as you can imagine you can charge your device many times over. We used several smartphones while conducting our tests and found that it will charge most smartphones from empty to full in around 1 hour 45 minutes using hardly any of the RAVPowers battery. If you have a smaller device like the iPhone 5s you can expect even quicker results as we found it took only 1 hour 20 minutes to fully charge. The devices we used in our testing was the Galaxy S4, HTC One M8, One Plus One, iPhone 5s and the iPhone 6 Plus.

We also tested out a variety of tablets and the RAVPower Deluxe 14000mAh Power Bank did not disappoint. We managed to charge our Nexus 7 from empty 4 times with the full charging cycle taking just under two hours. We also tested on the iPad Air and iPad with Retina display, the results weren’t as impressive with the RAVPower Deluxe only managing to charge these tablets once and taking what seemed like forever to charge.

As I have mentioned you can charge two devices at once using the RAVPower Deluxe 14000mAh power bank. We tested it using the One Plus One in the 1A USB port and the iPad mini in the 2A port, it worked exactly as described and we had no problems. Charging the power bank itself is an overnight job so if your planning a trip make sure you start charging in plenty of time.

It is also worth noting the RAVPower also features an LED flash light, it is very bright and can be turned on and off by double tapping the power button

Overall we are very impressed with the RAVPower Deluxe 14000mAh power bank. If you are looking for a power bank that you can rely on while going on long trips then this could certainly be for you. The ease of use and included features really sets the RAVPower apart from the competition. You can pick the RAVPower up for £22.99/$29.99 at the time of this review so it is certainly a bargain.
