Reuters is reporting that Google’s next generation Nexus 7 from Asus will arrive as soon as July this year. If the sources are to be believed then Mountain View is aiming to ship as many as 8 million units by the end of the year. This shows that they must have a lot of confidence in the upcoming model.
Other information that has leaked about the new device says that it will be powered by an unspecified Qualcomm CPU instead of the current Tegra 3 offering. This rumour suggests that Google may be hoping for a device that’s a little more battery friendly. There is also rumours of a thinner bezel but no pricing or spec details have been released as of yet.
Let’s hope this time round Google has learned from the current models success and up’s production to ensure we can all get hold of one on release.
