Sky take’s a pop at Netflix with new Kid’s section

One saving grace when it come’s to parenting is the ability to turn on YouTube or Netflix and put your kid’s favourite cartoon on while they are mid tantrum to help calm the situation. This is a technique I see being used more often these days and I must say it definitely works. Sky has finally clicked on to this and decided they wanted in on the action so the broadcaster is improving it’s child-centric on-demand selection. Sky is rolling out an update to Sky+ HD boxes this week and the first thing you will notice after the update is the new “kids” title on the homepage. This will in turn give you instant access to on-demand kid’s TV shows and movies as well as live channels like Nick Jr and Cbeebies. Sky has also noted that they will be increasing their on-demand library titles from 700 to 4,000 in the coming months and add favourites like Ben 10, Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob Squarepants and last but certainly not least Adventure Time. Although you can find all these on YouTube for free it’s certainly awesome to have another option available when your hoping for some quiet time as let’s face it, that’s priceless.

BeginnersTech was an idea I had one Sunday when I was bored. It is now not only a website but a successful YouTube channel that takes me all over the world. Don’t ever let anyone discourage you. Chase those dreams.
