Skype’s new Android smartphone update arrives with picture-in-picture feature

Previously only available on tablets Skype’s picture-in-picture feature has finally arrived for Android smartphone.  The new update allows Android smartphone users to chat with their friends on Skype while performing other tasks on their device like sending that important email or replying to a text message. The update arrives now probably due to the fact that smartphones have reached the point that they are almost as big as tablets so it makes sense.

When in call you can leave the app and it will put a tiny pop-up window on user screen that you can drag to move around. We had a little play with the feature last night and I have to say it’s pretty good. The update also brings a few other other improvements like the ability to easily share photos on iOS without errors and native support for Hindi. You can grab the update below.
