Looks like hackers are having a field day these past few months as details are being stolen left right and centre leaving many companies red faced with no explanation.
Hackers have breached two sites owned by Enix and the companyhave confirmed that up to 25000 registered customers could have had they email adresses stolen as a result of the breach.
In a statement, it said: “Square Enix can confirm a group of hackers gained access to parts of our Eidosmontreal.com website as well as two of our product sites. “We immediately took the sites offline to assess how this had happened and what had been accessed, then took further measures to increase the security of these and all of our websites, before allowing the sites to go live again.”
After the attacks both websites showed the message ” owned by chippy1337″, as well as several other known hacker names, including Xero, XiX and Venuism. The liklihood is that these hackers where not involed in the attack but instead being used as a scapegoat.
Well people we are reaching the stage where noone’s information is safe online. The video game industry is getting no rest at the moment with PSN still down after there recent attacks and now this, when will it stop?
