The new Nexus 7 is official

Nexus 7 2

Well after all the leaks this week we can now bring the speculation to an end as Google has just unveiled the new updated version of is much loved Nexus 7 tablet. The new Nexus 7 ias better specced but a with that comes a slight increase in price nothing to major but still an increase. The new Nexus 7 i made by ASUS again and they have brough everything we loved about the first model and made it even better. One thing we loved about the original was the screen well guess what they have went and made it even better bumping it up to 1920 x 1200, giving it a pixel density of 323ppi. There is also a new 7-point touch IPS panel with glass that is not only scratch proof but also is claimed to stop fingerprints and smudges.Backing this new display up is a 1.5GHz quad-core S4 Pro from Qualcomm that comes with an Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Pretty impressive stuff we have here. We are not finished tho as the new Nexus 7 will come running the all new Android 4.3.

The new Nexus 7 also comes with NFC on board as well as 802.11n connectivity but more exciting is the addition of Bluetooth 4.0. The rear of the device has a camera now as well but it’s only a 5 megapixel shooter so dont expect to many great shots. The front facing camera remains to be just 1.2 megapixels but I suppose we have to remember Google are trying to keep cost down for the consumer. There is also SlimPort that allows you to push 1080p content to your TV so this is a great addition. The new Nexus 7 is thinner and lighter weighing in at only 11.2 ounces and measuring just 0.3 inch. Thats not all thats got thinner even the bezels on the side have been slimmed down to 2.75mm which is pretty impressive and looks great.Improvements to sound quality have also been made with Google working with Frauhofer on the tablets pair of stereo speakers to kick out some awesome sounds.

Unfortunatley for us in the UK we will have to wait for pricing details but those stateside will be charged $349 for the 32GB LTE version but no date has been set for the release of that yet.The Wifi only 16Gb model will cost you $230 while the 32GB costs only $40 more at $270 and both will be available from the Play Store July 30th. As for the rest of us the new Nexus 7 will be launching in the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Canada, Australia, South Korea and Spain, with more countries “coming soon.”
