Unofficial BBC apps forced off Windows 8 and Phone app Stores

We all know that numerous apps use other apps to get information. So much so that today the BBC asked Microsoft to have Lawrence Gripper’s unofficial apps removed. The apps are for Windows 8 and Phone.The BBC apparently used legal pressure to force their removal.


The BBC knows that there are numerous apps out there that purport to be official apps, although they are unofficial, and are working to get these removed which are on other platforms as well.

There is not any official BBC apps for the Windows 8 or Phone yet but, are seemingly in the pipeline.

Lawrence describing the apps as a “labour of love,” he revealed that both apps had been removed on his personal blog. Stating, “It is with great sadness today that I removed both applications from the store.”
