If you are a Vodafone 4G customer we have some good news as your download speeds could see an increase shortly. Vodafone has made a billion pound investment into it’s network as it begins to roll out the UK’s first widely accessible LTE Advanced network. The knew network know s LTE-A will go live in Birmingham, Manchester or London in the coming weeks, promising to boost signal and improve 4G speeds thanks to increased network capacity.

LTE-A is actually known for crazy download speeds of up to 300Mbps. To achieve these kind of speeds you would require a Cat 6 LTE smartphone, which aren’t sold in the UK currently but you should receive a great boost. Vodafone has said it will roll the service out to more cities by the end of the year as it looks to further its strength over EE who are currently only in the closed testing stages.

This isn’t the only good news arriving from the carrier today as the operator has added a further 19 countries to its 4G roaming roster bringing the total to 23. The new countries include USA and Hong Kong, the full list is below. Vodafone has set up zones that all have different daily charges for example the “Europe Zone” will allow you to use your UK minutes, texts and 4G for £3 per day while “World Traveller Zones’ cost £5 per day. Vodafone has also slapped a maximum monthly spend of £41.29 to ensure you don’t come home to any massive bills.

The full list of countries covered by Vodafone’s 4G network are: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan and USA.
