Google is selling the Project Tango tablet for $512 without an invitation

Just one day before Google I/O 2015 kicks off, Google is making the Project Tango developers tablet available to anyone and everyone. The tablet was originally only available by invitation for $1024. In addition to making it available for purchase without an invitation, the price is only $512 now. You can get one on the Google Play Store right now.

Should you want one? Maybe, but maybe not. There will be Project Tango sessions at Google I/O and there may be new hardware as well. The current Project Tango tablet has 3D tracking and multiple sensors. Any new hardware should have the same. It’s interesting that Google has made this move right before I/O. It makes us very curious to see what new Project Tango goodies the company will introduce in the next 48 hours.
