Google Play Store, Will We See It Landing on BlackBerry 10.2.1 Any Time Soon?

Well to say there hasn’t been some fueled discussions about this in some way or another in the last couple of weeks would be an understatement.. From the optimist who wants to see this land on the BlackBerry 10 platform, to the other who don’t believe it will ever happen.  Not to mention the huge security risks.

With the imminent release of the 102.1 OS update which is supposedly in internal testing with a new Android Runtime, the rumours are that Google Play Store will be installed on the OS, and would allow the everyday users access to a plethora of Android apps.

Making sideloading obsolete.
Sideloading of apps happens in the BlackBerry world by the bucket-load and, many BlackBerry users will rejoice and hope that the Play Store lands in 10.2.1

Although this a a rumour at the moment there is some credibility involved. We must however sit back and not get (as our Editor-in-Chief says) to excited, I’m more delighted that it could be realised very soon, I hope so.  We have seen across all OS’s fake apps (BlackBerry BBM) for one, on Google Play and images made up on Photoshop to get everyone’s juices following. There does seem to be a touch of Photoshop with this image as there doesn’t appear to be any notification bar at the top, hmm.

One point we would like to add. With many developers opting out of developing apps for BB 10, this would certainly help users who see this as a light at the end of the tunnel.
