The Pandora internet radio app for Android received a big update today. The version number jumps up to 5.0 and the Android tablet interface got a much needed overhaul. The entire app has a new design.
The main interface for the play screen is now focused on the center of the screen. You can see your play history with the album art, and the contextual track information display down below. On the right-hand side, you’ll see your list of stations and options to add variety or share via your favorite social network. You can also arrange your stations in alphabetical or chronological order based on the date they were created.
The settings menu opens on the left. The profile icon now lets you see a more in-depth history including dates, likes, and option to remove likes if you want. There’s also an option to search for people on Pandora’s own social network, although we don’t know anyone who is using that.
The updated interface is very nice to look at and much easier to navigate. It offers more information now, too. One other thing that we noticed was the Chromecast icon shown in the Play Store screenshots. The app update doesn’t add Chromecast support, but it looks Pandora is working on adding it in soon.
If you love Pandora, and we know many of you do, hit the link below and download the update.
