Sony Xperia Tablet Z2 Specs Leak, Could Be Announced at MWC

Sony’s next flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z2, has been rumoured and leaked for a while now, and we know pretty much everything about it including that it is set for an announcement at MWC. But new news has surfaced that it may be joined by a larger version, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2.

Last year the Xperia Tablet Z was unveiled and was instantly praised for its slim/stylish profile as well as high end specs that gave the iPad a run for its money. Now a sequel is due, and according to @evleaks, it will be just as powerful as the upcoming Z2. It will feature a 2.3GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 with 3GB of RAM, running the latest Android 4.4 KitKat. The centrepiece will be the large 10.1″ display with the same 1200×1920 resolution as before, however the technology used will now be Sony’s stunning Triluminos screen for great colours and image quality. At the back will be an 8MP camera with a 2MP one at the front, and there’ll be 16GB of internal storage expandable via the microSD slot. As ever with Sony tablets, it will be waterproof which should be a comforting thing to have, as well as an extremely thin 6.4mm design making it even narrower than the previous Tablet Z. Last year there were two versions, a Wi-Fi only model and an LTE version, and it’s likely the new one will follow suit. Given the timing of the leak it seems plausible to expect the Xperia Tablet Z2 to be announced at MWC alongside its little brother. However, with rumours that Samsung will release their Galaxy Tab 4 series at MWC, the Sony slate could be in for some stiff competition.
