Telefonica, has sold O2 Ireland to Three Ireland for just over £650 million.
Telefonica has serious debt problems in Europe not at least on home soil where Spanish users have defaulted on contracts due to the high volume of unemployment.
Along with this is they are looking for the cheapest PAYG deals, and keeping their current phones.
The deal is subject to approval but this is expected to go through without any problem.
